Frequently Asked Questions
What are neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators temporarily relax facial muscles that are responsible for creating 'dynamic' fine lines and wrinkles. When neuromodulators are injected the muscle relaxes and the communication between the nerve and the muscle is blocked, limiting the contraction. The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles gradually fades resulting in a more youthful look. Due to Health Canada regulations, we recommend you come for a free consultation to discuss which product of neuromodulators is best and safest for your esthetics treatment at Le Skin Studio.
How long does the treatment take?
Depending on the area(s) being treated, the appointment time is relatively quick, lasting 15 to 30 minutes, allowing time to answer any questions the client has. A consultation must be planned prior to the first treatment, and treatment may be provided the same day at Le Skin Studio.
When will I see results?
Most patients begin to notice results within 3 to 5 days following the treatment*. Maximum results may be noticed within 14 days following the treatment. *Individual results may vary.
How long do results last?
For most patients, the results can last 3 to 6 months*. It is recommended to repeat the treatment every 3 to 6 months to maintain optimal results. *Individual results may vary.
How long before I can get back to my normal activities?
Most patients return to their regular activities immediately following treatment, although it is possible to experience temporary redness, bruising or minor swelling of the treated area in the 24 to 48 hours following the treatment. Excessive physical activity should be avoided within the first 24hrs.
What areas can be treated?
The most popular treatment areas for neuromodulators are frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet, gummy smile, bunny lines, lip flip, inverted smile, bruxism, excessive sweating, slight eyebrow lift, platysmal bands on the neck, dimpled chin, and smoker's lines.
How much does the treatment cost?

Our experts will recommend a product that is suitable for your needs in order to provide safe, natural and long-lasting results that meet your highest expectations. Cost will always be discussed prior to treatment, as the client we want you to feel comfortable with the entire process.
What is the difference between hyaluronic acid fillers and neuromodulators?
Dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, a derivative of one of the body’s natural sugars, and can be used to create volume in different areas of the face and hands. The product can absorb up to ten thousand times its weight in water, like a real sponge! Dermal fillers are recommended to rehydrate and balance dermal volume and are ideal to plump lips, fill deep wrinkles or other areas where volume loss is noticed. Neuromodulators temporarily relax specific muscles by blocking nerve impulses. Dynamic wrinkles and lines that appear as a result of these muscles contracting will gradually fade. Neuromodulators do not restore lost volume or fill deep wrinkles. Therefore, you can combine neuromodulators with dermal fillers to complement your results. Our experts will recommend a personalized treatment plan adapted to the needs of your skin.
What are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers?
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally produced by the human body and it plays a major role in keeping the skin hydrated and volumized. As we age, hyaluronic acid production slows. The rate at which varies, which is why the aging process looks different from person to person. Composed of hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers can be used to restore or balance dermal volume that has been lost over time. The most popular dermal filler treatments include: redefining the jawline, enhancing the cheek bones, and plumping or reshaping the lips. A variety of the best dermal fillers available are offered at Le Skin Studio.
Do hyaluronic acid filler injections hurt?
We take patient comfort seriously at Le Skin Studio. While pain is typically minimal, we recognize everyone has a unique tolerance, especially in sensitive areas. We can numb the area with topical anesthetic and we have a variety of ‘distraction devices’ available to you. You may experience sensitivity, mild swelling or small bruises following the treatment.
When will I see results after hyaluronic acid injections?
Results are visible immediately after the treatment, although minor swelling may alter the final result. You can appreciate the full benefits 1 to 2 weeks following treatment.
How long do hyaluronic acid injections results last?
For most patients, results of hyaluronic injections may last anywhere from 6 to 24 months, depending on the area(s) being treated*. Our experts will advise you of the best time to return for follow up treatments at your appointment. *Individual results may vary.
