Neuromodulator injections can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, around the eyes and mouth, etc. by causing the weakening of targeted muscles. During treatment, very low doses of the neuromodulator are injected directly into the muscles that cause stubborn lines due to the strengthening of the muscles over time. Neuromodulators work by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the injected muscles; this reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those fine lines to form, deepening with age and lack of treatment. As the muscle weakens when it’s injected with the neuromodulator, the wrinkles in the skin gradually soften and often disappear, giving the face a more relaxed and refreshed look.

Dermal fillers and volume-building injections are widely used in esthetic medicine to fill “static” wrinkles and to compensate for the loss of volume over time. They are composed of hyaluronic acid; a carbohydrate (sugar derivative) occurring naturally throughout the human body.
Dermal fillers can be used to correct and improve various aspects of the face. The most commonly treated areas are lips, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, chin and cheekbones. Other areas include under-eye area, jaw-line and even temples that are often affected by the loss of volume.

PRP is often used in the medical field for healing and pain management, but has shown excellent results in skin regeneration, as well as hair loss.

With over a decade of experience and knowledge as a maternity nurse all over the Canadian map working with various communities, Alex has been able to help guide families through this journey with education and compassion, and how much it greatly benefits diminishing the fears associated with pregnancy, labour and postpartum periods. She is here to listen to you/your family’s wants and needs and help create a foundation of research best-practice knowledge to allow you/your family to make well-informed and appropriate decisions during this time.
